Our Story
We are the Swanson's. For five generations we have run a cattle ranch on the wide open prairies of Provost Alberta. Farming has been in our families for as far back as we can trace.
About Us
We treasure our role as stewarts of the land and endeavor to pass that passion on for generations to come. Sustainable farming is something we strive for. The animals in our care are raised ethically with the utmost care.
Our family has been ranching in this location for over a century. Our long history on this land has given us the perspective to see how important it is to treat it sustainably. We have been inspired by permaculture and see the positive change it can create. We started our grass fed heard in 2020.
Our cattle are born and raised on green pastures calved in the warm weather in May. We have chosen to raise angus cattle as their longevity and high unassisted birth rates mean less interventions. Angus cattle are known for their superior marbling and tenderness of meat.
Our 100% grass fed heard is fed non-GMO, feed with no fertilizers or herbicides. They are not given any antibiotics, vaccinations, or growth hormones. They are not fed any soy or corn and have been handled humanly. Butchering is done at a local licensed abattoir only 12 km from our ranch.
